Dan is a native of Tallahassee, FL, finding his gateway into the green industry fresh out of high school via a part-time turned full-time job at Tallahassee Nurseries. Dan has a BS degree in Landscape and Nursery Horticulture from the University of Florida as well as a MS degree in Horticulture from Auburn University. Dan spent 8 years teaching horticulture, landscape, and arboriculture courses at Piedmont Technical College in South Carolina. In 2024, Dan was recognized by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) as the Outstanding Collegiate Educator of the Year. Dan currently serves as an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist with Bartlett Tree Experts in Florida’s capital city, providing research-based tree care solutions to his clients.
